Meeting the Father in Seasons of Loss - Part 6

In God We Trust Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust IS the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.” Jeremiah 17:7-8

A year after my husband died, I planned to sell my property and move closer to our children. I fully expected God to resource my logical plans: my primary ministry being to my family. Furthermore, I had pledged a large portion of that money for taking the Gospel to the "uttermost ends of the earth." I was even blessed to purchase a house in another state that was equal-distance from each of our three children. Everything was going according to plan, my plan.

Then the "drought" came. A second year passed. Despite a "seller's market" my property has remained unsold.  This is my opportunity, how much trust can I place in the Lord?

I choose to invest every bit of my trust in God. He is the most secure place for such a deposit. I'm counting on Him, as my "Heavenly Husband" to lead me forward. I would like for the property to sell, but my life is "green." I am not without shelter. I am eating. I am paying bills. I enjoy the fruit of ministry to my children, grandchildren, friends, and new church family. I have joy in my heart.

Heavenly Husband, thank you for giving us daily opportunities to grow our roots deep. Thank You for those opportunities to trust You. We need those well-watered roots to help us stand tall despite the drought, winds, and turmoils of life. Thank You for never leaving nor forsaking us. Thank You for being FOR us. Honey, thank You for loving us so well. God, in You we trust.
